The Honorable Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, Judge of the United States District Court in the Northern District of California, was first appointed to the Alameda County Superior Court in 2008. She was then appointed to the federal bench in 2011 by President Barack Obama, becoming the first Latina to serve as a Federal District Court Judge for the Northern District of California.
Raha Jorjani is the Supervising Immigration Defense Attorney with the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office and directs California’s first public defender Immigration Representation Unit to provide immigrant clients with representation in deportation proceedings.
Donations to the EBLRLA Scholarship Fund will support Latino/a students through scholarships that will help defray the mounting costs of a legal education.
